The modern rhythm of life makes you often worry and experience stress. And some situations knock you out and have a very negative impact on the psyche. Mental health is, above all, the absence of any abnormalities and mental illness. But sometimes, even a fully healthy person is in an unstable state and has problems in the emotional and psychological areas. And so, a more accurate definition of the concept under consideration is social and psychological well-being, which allows you to live a full life: to realize yourself and discover your potential, to work productively, to experience satisfaction, to make a certain contribution to social life.

Signs of impairment

If the psyche is stable, then the person can live fully, adequately respond to any situations, contact, and interact with others, build personal or family relationships, demonstrate creative abilities, adapt to difficult conditions, take the initiative, take responsibility, in general, do everything that helps not just to exist, but also to achieve the best quality of life. And that is why it is important to monitor your mental health constantly and carefully, and from a very early conscious age. And here are the main steps on the way to a stable and healthy psyche:

Observe your daily routine

If you will not rest and get enough sleep, your nervous system will work literally at its full stretch, which will certainly lead to malfunctions and failures. To avoid this, go to bed and get up at the same time, don’t play games or casino real money online before going to bed, sleep at least eight hours a day, keep a balance of work and rest, and do not overwork. If your body adjusts to a certain mode, it will work properly, and therefore the normal functioning of all its important systems, including the nervous system.

Prefer healthy food

The state and function of the nervous system depend on the food we eat, as well as contained in its useful substances. And especially useful for mental health B vitamins, zinc, selenium, and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Eat more greens and green vegetables, cereals, seafood and sea fish, and fruits. But from the abuse of alcohol, fat, sweets, flour, fried and pickled when possible it is better to give up.

Learn to control your emotions

At first, it will not be easy, especially if you are an impulsive and temperamental person by nature. But if you train constantly, you will soon achieve positive results. Some exercises will help in this. For example, if you feel that you are about to “explode,” then try to breathe deeply and concentrate on your breathing. Or start counting backwards. Or think about something pleasant, transport yourself mentally to that place where you were happy and stay there at least for a couple of minutes.

Physical activity for your body and mind to be a better first responder

Physical activity is very important for all aspects of health, including mental well-being. Therefore, it is recommended that you set aside at least 20 minutes a day for exercise. In this case, you cannot get tired of a long and boring run on a treadmill. Spending time in nature can also provide good mental well-being.

Learn to think positively

Try to distract yourself and not fixate on the negative, find even in the most difficult situations something good. Think about the fact that at this moment it may be much worse for someone than for you.

If you cannot cope on your own, seek a therapist. The main goal of treatment is to eliminate the cause of the psychological disorder, that is, to eliminate physiological malfunctions in the central nervous system. And everyone already knows how to improve their physical health, but maintaining mental health is an equally important task for everyone, especially first responders.
